Scotland chose to tag every sheep with an electronic tag - at least those born from January 2011. Slaughter lambs use a batch tag with only the Flock number printed; breeding sheep and any animals remaining alive after 12 months, must wear Twin tags - one EID and one matching visual tag.Colour choices for Twin tags are more vague than England and Wales but our receommendation is that you stick to Yellow EID always. The batch slaughter tag, and the EID Twin tag will thereforen always be yellow, while the visual Twin Tag can be your choice of 6 colours. The KEY advantage of ALL Roxan TagFaster EID tags is that they are colour-coded. Yellow tags with BLACK ends are Slaughter only; Yellow tags from Twin tag sets have coloured ends which match the visual tag colour (often changed every year).
